This class is for individuals working within or who wish to work within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This course is especially intended for participants who provide transportation of neonatal patients, to include healthcare providers such as Respiratory Therapists, Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Midwives, Nursing Assistants, Pre-hospital providers such as Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics, along with students caring for patients in L&D, postpartum, nursery, emergency departments .
S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessment and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support. A seventh module, Quality Improvement stresses the professional responsibility of improving and evaluating care provided to sick infants.
The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program is taught in a didactic-interactive format by experts in neonatal nursing, medicine, and respiratory care. S.T.A.B.L.E. is the most widely distributed and implemented neonatal education program to focus exclusively on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick infants.
